Reading on a good day

It was such a gentle day today.

As the weather temperature rises, the bald trees are beginning to grow leaves again. What a beauty to witness the changes as the young leaves unfurl and turn to deep shades of green covering all the bald spots of its tree branches.

I practiced yoga this morning and it seems to sort my aching muscles. The few days of binging old Filipino films --I love them but-- are making my brain numb now for any entertainment so I decided to catch up on my Goodreads reading list. By "reading" I meant listening to the audiobook copy on Spotify as I do my work. I am eternally grateful for the public recordings of these people of letters–– the good sort of people–– to volunteer and read the book and make it accessible for people like me who could not always find good Literature nearby.

I read The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde. I have to admit this is the first time I read his works and it left me with a good impression of the author that I am for sure going to read more from his works. It was a short, funny story that just encouraged me to read another book: Howard's End. Or should I say restarted reading it? I could not know for sure how many times I picked up Howard's End to amuse me and it has always amused me. I had read the digital copy, l had tried listening to the audiobook, and I had tried listening to the audiobook while reading the digital copy but somehow life took over and my interest shifted with them, and I had forgotten to finish the good book. When I picked it up again I always forgot where I ended the last time so I am always going back to the beginning which I would do so gladly. The bohemian ways of the Schlegel sisters always fascinate me. I would like to be as cultured and well-read as them.

After the whole day of reading, I decided to stretch my legs and so I rearranged the furniture to open more space in my study/dining. Before the day ended, I worked on my crochet project-- still listening to the audiobook-- while sipping the hot lemon ginger I made.

Before I end this blog, I would like to share the playlist I made for the audiobooks I mentioned above, in case you are also interested in listening to them. Just click on the link below.

I hope you'll enjoy it as I do!
