It rained all night. My eyes waiting for the natural light to grace the room, opened at half past 9 o’clock. It was still dark outside. I tasted a bitter spool of saliva in my mouth. I went directly to the bathroom to remove my retainer and wash my mouth. I hate wearing the retainer. After I brushed my teeth, I started to feel hungry so I started boiling water for a quick easy noodle soup using the somen noodles I keep as a pantry supply. I like eating hot food in the morning.

After breakfast, I decided to continue cleaning the room. I started by wiping the cabinets and shelves and cleaning the spice jars. Then I proceed to wash the floors. My boyfriend texted me that he was stranded in Batangas due to the heavy rain. I started crying again. I was expecting him in the evening to pour out my soul. I felt so heavy again. Maybe I’ll feel good once I’m done cleaning and so I continue to wax the floors and for the finale, I shined the dining table and the bookcase. If I’m still feeling blue I cannot feel it anymore for I am exhausted. I took a bath and ate lunch. It’s still raining outside. I felt cozy holding the hot cup of black coffee in my hand. My apartment is clean and I am fed. I am grateful for that.
